Cranial Sacral Therapy
Do you ever wonder what massage therapy or bodywork technique is right for you?
This is often one of the first questions we receive from clients. We love to have an open information exchange and dialogue with clients upon each appointment to ensure we are most effectively treating your needs. Below is a short excerpt on Cranialsacral therapy, a gentle and peaceful therapy that rejuvenates one’s body and soul.
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
A very gentle, light touch massage that releases tension in the central nervous system so that every other system in the body can relax, self-correct and free itself of pain and discomfort of past and present injuries, requiring minimum contact or physical manipulation of the body.
Originally developed for physicians, this gentle therapy is now available to a wider variety of health care providers. Through gentle holding of the bones, following the rhythm of the central nervous system, the body experiences deep and nourishing states of relaxation, and the nervous system may be calmed. After a session, it is likely you will feel deeply relaxed and centered.
Some people use Craniosacral therapy as a supplement to other forms of treatment, including:
Migraine headaches
Chronic pain
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Trauma of any kind
Post-surgical recovery
TMJ, and others
When practiced sensitively and respectfully by a trained practitioner, this form of therapy may support an attitude shift in clients toward a more direct and intimate sense of their own wellbeing, a feeling of "being more at peace with oneself." It may also support a natural shift to self-acceptance, a more natural capacity for loving relations, and a sense of being connected to life.
