Test Registration and Support
If you received a test kit at Lavender Farm Wellness Office, follow the instructions inside the testing box for test registration and payment
Otherwise, look for an email from RUPA Health to arrange for test kit delivery and payment
Contact RUPA Health if you have questions and need additional clarification on testing instructions
Below are key highlights on testing information
Blood Sample Collection
Lab draws can be done at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, 57 Prospect Street
First-time visitors need to call 1-866-211-6588 to register
Best time: Monday - Wednesday, 7.30am-9.30am as this will allow for prompt processing
Stop taking supplements 3days prior to the lab draw
No food, only water for a minimum of 8 hours prior to the lab draw
The lab requisition slip is included in the testing box
Stool Sample Collection
Home stool collection can be done at any time during the day.
Wait at least 4 weeks from your last colonoscopy or barium enema.
Avoid collecting samples when you are menstruating or have actively bleeding hemorrhoids.
Samples must be shipped within 24 hours of the final collection.
We recommend shipping Monday - Wednesday only to avoid shipment delays
Urine Sample Collection
8-24 hours prior to urine collection, freeze the included freezer brick
Limit fluid intake to 48 oz over the entire 24-hour period. Eat your usual diet. Hold supplements for 3 days.
If you are a cycling woman, do not collect during menstruation
IMMEDIATELY UPON WAKING, collect urine into the provided collection cup.
If you wake to urinate during the night (within 6 hours of waking), collect the urine into the provided collection cup and refrigerate, then combine it with morning urine
Bring your completely frozen urine samples along with frozen freezer brick to your blood draw appointment.
Saliva Sample Collection
Do not eat or drink anything but water, or brush your teeth for at least 2 hours prior to collection
Saliva testing instructions will vary depending on the test
Testing Results
Once your samples have been processed by the lab, you will get a notification in the patient portal
I will make a lab interpretation video for you and will send you the link via the patient portal
Once you have reviewed the Video, write down your questions, and we can address those during your upcoming visit
